Raya is a light and versatile lounge chair, designed for collaborative environments. Its ergonomic design lends to relaxed informal meetings and conversations, while the colour combinations lend to a joyful yet elegant aesthetic. The fabric - knitted in a combination of 3 colours – seems to change colour depending on the angle we look at the chair.
The name “Raya” – Stingray fish in Spanish - comes from similarity the shape of the backrest fabric which is made using 3d knitting technology. This lounge chair is fruit of a two-year project that focused on reducing material waste by using technology. The result is a chair with minimal waste as the fabric is knitted to measure, all parts can be easily detached for easy maintenance and recycling and no glues or toxics are used in the process.
